2016 has been an interesting year of films so far. Here are some that I have watched the rating I would give them out of 5.

Captain America: Civil War4/5 This felt like what Avengers 2 should have been.

Suicide Squad4/5 I think all the negative reviews and critics blasting this movie need to calm down. This was better than both Man of Steel and Batman Vs Superman combined. The action was great, cast was great and the music and effects were great. Everyone needs to chill out. And The joker is in plenty of the movie and Jared Leto did a great job. I preferred this to Age of Ultron and am looking forward to Justice League.

Finding Dory4/5

Zootopia4/5

Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice2/5 I did not overly love this movie. I found it confusing and slow. Although I love Batman and thought that Ben Affleck did a great job.

The Nice Guys4/5

The Huntsman: Winter’s War4/5

Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising – 3/5

Sicario4/5

With Loki preparing to take over the Earth and make all humans his slaves it’s up to S.H.I.E.L.D. To assemble The Avengers to bring Loki down and save Earth before it’s too late.

Short description of this movie I know but that is basically the jist of it.
Now I LOVED this movie. I’ve always been a superhero fan and I’ve always been a Joss Whedon fan. The two combined = awesomeness!
I think everyone did a fantastic job on this film. From acting to editing to stunts to cinematography.
The whole thing was kind of epic.

I would expect nothing less from Joss Whedon. As if you couldn’t tell but I am a HUGE Buffy fan.

Performance wise I thought everybody did a pretty good job.
Robert Downey Jr. is hilariously awesome as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Seriously the dude is just freaking cool!
Chris Hemsworth as Thor is perfect casting. His interactions with Iron Man crack me up.
Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America is heaven. Great fish out of water.
I love Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. I found him so vulnerable and sweet. Really touching.
Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner as Black Widow and Hawkeye were really cool. You just want to see those crazy kids get together already.
Tom Hiddleston is great as Loki. Geez half way through the movie I started rooting for him to win. Good acting.
All the other cast members were great. I can’t wait to see them expand this into more sequels. You have do many characters to play with and tell stories of. I would love to see a movie about the S.H.I.E.L.D. team. More Cobie and Samuel. Sad to see Clark Gregg go.
Loved seeing 80’s actor Harry Dean Stanton pop in for a cameo. As well as Stan Lee.
So many more actors in this film. So funny, so action packed, so sweet. Not hard to see why it’s taken in so much money. It is long but it’s worth it.

Captain America: The First Avenger – Review

Starring: Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, with Stanley Tucci, Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson.

Screenplay By: Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Comic Books: Joe Simon and Jack Kirby.

Directed By: Joe Johnston

Steve Rogers (Evans) is a scrawny and medically challenged young man who tries constantly to get into the military. Due to his size and health problems no one will take him. After a military scientist sees him profess his love for joining the military the scientist decides to pass him and try him out with an experiment that he has been working on. This experiment will make him stronger and bigger and turns him into Captain America., who becomes the American people’s saviour during the war. He gives them hope. Of course a villain is in the mix to wreak havoc. While Steve feels like a bit of a joke he decides to take on the challenge of bringing down the villain. Will he succeed.

Ah Chris Evans, where to begin. What a great choice a s Captain America. You had vulnerability, heart and strength. I enjoyed this movie. I love the characters that Stanley Tucci plays (he can do everything!) and Tommy Lee Jones is one fine actor and handsome to boot.  I love when Jones is humorous. So funny. Hugo Weaving as the villain was great. But  sorry to admit I couldn’t separate him from his Matrix villain.

All in all this movie was a feast for the eyes, great sets, great costumes great music. I love that time period. Apart from the war of course. I especially loved the ending. Without giving anything away, it was bittersweet.

Can’t wait for The Avengers to come out!
