Sofia Coppola – The Bling Ring
Sofia Coppola has just signed up Emma Watson to star in her movie ‘The Bling Ring’.
‘The Bling Ring’ is based on the true story of a group of teenagers who in 2008-2009 were reportedly robbing celebrities out of millions worth of jewels.
I was facsinated with this story as I found it bizarre how a group of teenages could get past security (if there was any) to rob the likes of Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom. Lindsey Lohan, Rachel Bilson & Megan Fox.
Assumingly Watson must be playing one of the thieves. A nice departure from her usual roles.
I am a big fan of Sofia Coppola and love what she does. Although I must admit I haven’t seen all of ‘Lost In Translation’. I was a big fan of ‘The Virgin Suicides’ when it was released. My friends bought me the VHS for my 17th or 18th b’day. Wasn’t until I watched ‘Marie Antoinette’ and thought it had a similar look and feel that I realized Coppola was behind ‘The Virgin Suicides’. And she did one of my favourite ads. The Miss Dior Cherie L’eau ad. Gorgeous. ‘Somewhere’ is a must watch also.
